Ed Koehn Ford is excited to announce it has paired with Greenville High School Soccer Team to bring its newest grassroots community program to kids and families. It’s called the Ford Escape Soccer Skills Challenge!

Starting in July 2012, the Ford Escape Soccer Skills Challenge will join Ford dealerships with local youth soccer clubs/YMCAs/schools in skills challenges throughout the Great Lakes Region. Boys and girls, ages 8-13, will compete in a series of challenges designed to encourage teamwork, improve their soccer skills and most importantly, have fun! Participants will receive points based on their performance of the six different soccer kills (Toe Taps, Foundations, Juggling (right and left foot), Dribbling (right and left foot). The top-scorers, a boy and girl from each age group, will be awarded a trophy at the end of the event.  All participants will receive a souvenir scorecard for their efforts as well as a two month iSoccer Plus membership.  Local winners will be invited to participate in a Regional Finals event in late September or October to compete again for a trophy and other prizes (Regional Finals details will be forthcoming at a later date). Ed Koehn Ford will donate $500 to Greenville High School Soccer Team that assists in executing a local challenge competition.

In addition to the soccer challenges, Ed Koehn Ford will be displaying the all-new 2013 Ford Escape in a dedicated vehicle display space during the entire soccer skills program and Dealer representatives will be on hand to answer consumer questions.. Parents/legal guardians of participants may enter for a chance to win a two-year lease of the 2013 Escape, Ford’s newest smart and green compact crossover vehicle. (no purchase necessary - complete rules at:
www.fordescapesoccerskillschallenge.com/findevent). A winner will be randomly selected on October 15, 2012.

“Building upon the incredible success of prior similar programs that have strengthened our relationship with the community, we’re really excited to be able to provide this opportunity to young soccer players and their families,” said Tyler Athey of Ed Koehn Ford. “We’re looking forward to engaging local youth in fun athletic activities this summer, while showing off the all-new Escape at the same time!”

Both US Club Soccer (a national organization for club soccer) and iSoccer (an online soccer training and coaching platform) have joined forces with Ford in this amazing opportunity for young soccer players.
