From Lincoln Frontline July-August 2011

By 2012, mobile phone applications (apps) are expected to become a $4 billion industry. Analysts predict that the mobile phone will become the primary source for internet access by 2015. Clearly, smartphones and their accompanying apps are permeating our lives at a rapid pace. Ford/Lincoln understands advanced technology is the future and, therefore, offers hands-free, voice-activated SYNC, which enables drivers to conveniently integrate certain popular smartphone apps in their vehicle, rather than simply on their phone.

SYNC AppLink, first avalable on the 2012 Lincoln MKZ and Navigator, is an in-vehicle technology feature to deliver voice control of smartphone apps.

Listening to Pandora's user-cusomized radio stations in the car on my daily commute? Sending tweets to twitter via voice, without even taking my eyes off the road? The future looks bright indeed.
