2010 Ford F-150 Trailer Towing Guide

Here at Ed Koehn one of the most frequent questions we receive is "Can the F-150 for the Super Duty I'm interested in pull my trailer or fifth-wheel that weighs "x" amount of pounds?" I thought I would put the information in an easily accessible place, like here on our blog. These trailer tow guides are provided by Ford, and I categorize them by engine and year range of those engines. Towing guides for other Ford trucks will be added shortly.
This is the F-150 Pickup Conventional and Fifth-Wheel Towing Guide that covers the model years 2004 to 2010.
If you can't read the information, click the image, then you can right click to print it out so it can be more easily read.

The 2013 Ford Fusion!

Presenting the all new 2013 Ford Fusion.

2013 Ford Fusion
The new model Fusion was unveiled in February at the 2012 North American International Auto Show to rave reviews. The Fusion won the EyesOn Design "Excellence in Design Award", the top honor for production vehicles. MotorTrend says: "Ford's all-new Fusion brings alive the next generation of more expressive vehicles from Ford and is the first sedan to offer gasoline, hybrid and plug-in hybrid versions." Best in Show Award by the Autoweek editorial staff.

With a design based largely on the Evos Concept unveiled earlier this year, the new Ford Fusion should easily be the best-looking car in a segment that includes models like the Toyota Camry, Honda Accord, Chevrolet Malibu and the Kia Optima. Inside, the larger and sleeker Fusion features a more spacious interior with a better use of technology including Ford’s updated MyFord Touch infotainment system. While the styling and technology are definitely notable, the big news for the 2013 Fusion is what lies beneath that sculpted sheet metal.

2013 Ford Fusion hybrid badge

Unlike the all-new Ford Escape, the Fusion will still be available in hybrid form for 2013. This next-generation hybrid system starts off with a 2.0-liter Atkinson cycle inline-four and a lithium-ion battery pack. This setup is expected to give the 2013 Ford Fusion Hybrid remarkable fuel economy estimates of 47 miles per gallon in the city and 44 mpg on the highway; Fusion Hybrid is also able to travel at speeds of up to 62 miles per hour under full-electric power.

A bit bigger of a surprise is the new Fusion Energi. As is the case with the C-Max Energi introduced last year and going on sale later this year, the Fusion Energi is a plug-in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV). Using the same engine as the Hybrid,, Ford says that the Fusion Energi will get an expected 100 miles per gallon equivalent (MPGe) which is better than the Chevrolet Volt and Toyota Prius PHEV.

2.0L EcoBoost Engine

Of course, buyers looking for a more conventional powertrain will still have plenty of options when it comes to the new Fusion. The base engine continues to be a 2.5-liter inline-four, but two new EcoBoost engine options will now be available. The 1.6-liter EcoBoost can be equipped with either a manual or automatic transmission, while the more powerful 2.0-liter EcoBoost is only available with an automatic but offers either front- or all-wheel drive configurations.

2013 Ford Fusion

Modern design features sweeping lines, laser-cut headlamps and a strong, graphically designed grille. Fusion features a sleek, athletic silhouette reminiscent of a coupe with the functionality of a sedan. Strong styling cues emphasized by the LED (light-emitting diode) tail lamps and bright exhaust tips integrated into the rear fascia on Titanium models.

Available interior of the 2013 Ford Fusion

Fusion's interior features a sporty, driver-oriented environment with next-generation seating that offers expanded functionality. Exceptional fit and finish and greater use of soft-touch materials and thoughtful attention to passenger interactivity points. The Fusion proudly uses EcoCloth interior, available on SE, which features seating fabric made from 100 percent recycled yarn that would normally end up in landfills as waste.

Beautiful! The 2013 Ford Fusion

The new Fusion makes use of the Active Grille Shutter System which helps improve efficiency by maximizing the aerodynamic efficiency of the grille opening and the engine cooling system. When less engine cooling is required, the shutters automatically close to help improve aerodynamics and fuel efficiency.

A hero shot of the 2013 Ford Fusion
Safety was also put into the design of the all-new Fusion. Body strength has been increased by 10% over the previous model through the use of more high-strength steels such as boron. Side door intrusion beams extend across the two strongest areas of the door frame to help protect against passenger compartment intrusion in certain side-impact collisions. Fusion features eight standard airbags, including dual-stage airbags for the driver and front passenger which calculate the severity of an impact and inflate appropriately.

Perhaps even more important is Fusion's ability to avoid an accident with a list of technologies. AdvanceTrac Electronic Stability Control, ABS, brake assist, tire pressure monitoring system, and available all-wheel drive are just some of the features to help you stay in control behind the wheel. Also available on the Fusion is the lane keeping system with driver alert, blind spot information system, adaptive cruise control, auto headlamps, rain-sensing wipers, reverse sensing system and rear-view camera.

The 2013 Ford Fusion Sprint Cup Car

The 2013 Fusion body style will also be next years cup car for NASCAR's top racing series. Engineers paid close attention to making sure the on-track version closely resembled the street car.

The 2013 Ford Fusion is expected to continue the Fusion-models claim as the top selling vehicle in Ford's line up, as well as increase market-share in the very competitive mid-sized car race. I have just received word as I write this that the new Fusion is beginning to ship from Ford to dealerships. Stay tuned to this blog and www.edkoehn.com as the 2013 Ford Fusion hits the lot and showroom. Look for our staff reviews and video test drives! I anticipate this being the hottest car from this fall through all of next year...

The Ways a Sales Event Can Help the Local Economy

Sales events have a positive influence on the local economy in more ways than than you may see on the surface. The event itself can be financially lucrative for the host, but the financial impact reaches well outside our showroom floor. This is just a brief blog to show a few ways in which an event here at Ed Koehn can actually be good for our community.

AmericInn - Greenville
When we have a liquidation event to move some of our older new and pre-owned vehicles we will sometimes higher an outside sales and marketing firm to help with the task. This includes the personal, and management. These folk typically are not from the area, but stay during the sale and absorb the hospitality that can be found right here in Greenville, MI. They will often stay at places like the AmericInn. Dinner is readily available at one of Greenville's many restaurants such as Applebee's, McDonalds, Burger Kind and El Rancho.

Brats from The Meat Shack - Greenville

They're not the only ones that eat! The employees here at Ed Koehn never go hungry. Often times you can spot us plotting and scheming about what we are going to do for lunch today. When a decision has been made it's off to town to pick up goodies, such as Jet's Pizza, Subway, The Winter Inn, The Other Place, Turk Lake Bar, meat from The Meat Shack and countless local other locations here in Greenville. Supplies such as paper plates, cutlery and a ton of things I can't even think of are picked up from local stores Meijer and WalMart.

The Ed Koehn Automotive Group would like to thank you for purchasing your vehicles locally, spending money locally. We would like to thank you for doing your part to help keep our local economy strong. The people of Greenville, and surrounding areas, are known for taking care of one another. We are known for taking care of and taking pride in our communities. I thought I would take a moment and share this thought as it crossed my mind. Community. Every sale we make is money right back in our community. The things we spend money on is frequently money back in our own community. Community. That's what it's all about, I just thought you should know...

Most Anticipated Cars of 2013

Most Anticipated Cars of 2013

I recently read an arcticle about the 13 "Most Anticipated Cars of 2013" on Forbes website. (http://www.forbes.com/sites/joannmuller/2012/09/10/the-most-anticipated-cars-of-2013/) I was pleased to notice that three of the top thirteen vehicles are manufactured by the Ford Motor Company/Lincoln. Not one, not two, but three cars that have industry buzz. Let's take a closer look...

2013 Ford Fusion

Likely price: $22,000 to $30,000 Ford aims to redefine the competitive mid-sized car segment with the Aston Martin-inspired look of the new Fusion sedan, available with gasoline, hybrid and plug-in hybrid powertrains. The hybrid will get 47 mpg in the city; the Fusion Energi plug-in hybrid will get the equivalent of at least 100 mpg.

2013 Ford C-Max hybrid

Starting price: $25,995 The C-Max is a compact utility vehicle sold in Europe. In the U.S., it'll be sold only as a hybrid or plug-in hybrid. The C-Max hybrid has a 570-mile driving range, and gets 47 mpg in both city and highway driving. The C-Max Energi, coming later this fall, can go more than 20 miles on electricity alone, and will have a total range of 550 miles. Features in both vehicles include a hands-free liftgate and panoramic sunroof.

2013 Lincoln MKZ

Price: TBA Debuting later this year, the new Lincoln MKZ represents the future of Lincoln. It features impressive styling, with a distinctive retractable glass roof, and other unique features like a push-button gear selector, rear inflatable seatbelts and an intelligent system that controls driving dynamics.

For more information about these or any other vehicles in the Ford or Lincoln lineup, be sure to stop by and speak with a sales and leasing consultant right here at Ed Koehn Ford Lincoln of Greenville.

The 2013 Lincoln MKZ

When looking for a new take on luxury, look no further than the all-new 2013 Lincoln MKZ. The MKZ will be available at Ed Koehn Ford Lincoln this fall, and you will also be able to find more information at www.edkoehnlincoln.com. The 2013 version of the MKZ features elegent, fluid lines. It has a very athletic stance that is poised for changes in direction. It's imaginative features give rise to new perspective. Open, airy spaces welcome you in, while its advanced systems ease the drive.

Lincoln has made a bold move to take on the fiercely competitive luxury market which is currently dominated by Mercedes-Benz, BMW and Lexus. Critics and customers are taking notice; praising the stunning design, numerous technology and safety features, and the panoramic roof.
"Lincoln certainly did its homeword and the 2013 MKZ seems promising at first glance ... The raised trunk lid, integrated spoiler and exhausts, sculpted rear bumper and massive slab-sided rear fenders won't be mistaken for anything else on the road..." - Colin Bird, Cars.com

The 2013 Lincoln MKZ has an impressive list of powerplant options from the standard 2.0L EcoBoost turbocharged, direct-injection engine to the powerful 3.7L Ti-VCT 24-valve V6 engine. It is also available with the fuel sipping 2.0L iVCT hybrid engine.

Along the lines of "shifting your perspective", the MKZ has a neatly designed, uncluttered, fully embracing driver environment, sans the traditional shifter. Select your gear with the simple push of a button.

Elegent design and engeneering, right into it's avalable 19" polished aluminum wheels.

The panoramic glass roof.

The 2013 Ford Focus ST

Have you heard about the new 2013 Ford Focus ST? If not, please allow me to make the introduction: Here is the 2013 Ford Focus ST...

2013 Ford Focus ST
The ST stands for Sport Technologies. Ford's Global Sport Technologies group is new to North America, and the ST is the first truly global performance car from Ford. The inspiration is "Pure exhilaration meets the daily drive". The Focus ST is designed to go head to head with competitors such as the Volkswagen GTI, the Honda Civic Si and the MazdaSpeed3, giving buyers an alternative choice to the Japanese and European "hot hatches". The chassis, engine sound and comfort of the Focus ST have been tubed to deliver a sport driving experience with a level of refinement rarely seen in this type of car. Simply put: the Focus ST is geared towards "driving purists" who will appreciate owning a fast, fun-to-drive car that's expressive and attention grabbing.

The Focus ST is designed to be striking to look at, but it's also functional. From it's sweeping kinetic - "looks as if it's in motion, even when still" - to the large one-piece hexagonal mesh grill that increases airflow. Other features include a front chin spoiler, 18" Y-spoke painted aluminum wheels, muscular extended rocker panels, diffuser style vents in the rear lower bumper fascia and high performance exhaust with centrally located dual bright tips.

Inside is a blend of the sophisticated and the bold. Focus ST has features such as available RECARO front sport bucket seats, unique ST gauges with red needle pointers, three additional gauges for turbo boost pressure (psi), oil pressure and oil temperature and metal, racing-inspired clutch, brake and accelerator pedals.

Performance is the name of the game, and with it's responsive performance, the ST does not disappoint. The Focus ST is powered by the high-output 2.0L EcoBoost I-4 intercooled engine that has 20 psi of turbo boost.
  • 252 hp @ 5500 rpm
  • 270 lb.ft. of torque @ 2500 rpm
That beast is mated to a 6 speed manual transmission. The suspension has been uniquely tuned for European-inspired driving. Goodyear Eagle F1's provide a sure grip and the four wheel disc brakes with hi-performance, low metallic compound pads make sure you can stop. The ST has a variable ratio steering rack plus electric power-assisted steering (EPAS) with enhanced torque vectoring control which works like a limited slip differential. Three-mode AdvanceTrac electronic stability control allows you to fine tune the handling. Standard mode provides confidence regardless of conditions. Sport mode provides more spirited driving performance and Off is designed for racetrack use, allowing wheel spin and drift.

The 2013 Focus ST also has an impressive list of options and equipment groups such as SYNC with MyFord Touch, voice activated navigation, intelligent access with push-button start, MyKey - the ability to set top speed and volume limits on the stereo, the ST2 and ST3 equipment and performance packages... and true to the Ford Focus, good fuel mileage at 32 mpg. Focus ST is on it's way... are you ready?
